Born to parents, both working in education, Tambra Cherie knew the importance of an
educational background. She graduated from Jackson State University with a Masters
degree in Business Administration and Bachelor’s degree in Business Management
and Marketing. Tambra discovered her passion for media hosting and the entertain-
ment industry at an early age. It was during an internship with WRJH
(Jackson MS-2002), she began to live her dream and fulfill her goals within the enter-
tainment industry. Her love for people and radio quickly grew into love for people,
radio, and television. Her passion for people and community service sparked her
interest and ultimately her call to membership with the Gamma Rho Chapter of
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Tambra Cherie has hosted various television productions and was the host and
producer of the #1 entertainment show in Mississippi, Admission
Granted. Admission Granted has aired on The CW, UPN and CBS affiliates. Tambra
Cherie’s interview guest roster includes a multitude of one-on-one interviews with
Comedians, Actors, Entertainers, artists such as Fantasia, Ginuwine, Monica,
John Legend, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Keyshia Cole, and Moguls including NBA
great Magic Johnson & Hip Hop pioneer, Russell Simmons.
Tambra Cherie has covered countless major events, concerts, and tours including
The BET Awards, The 50th Annual Grammy Awards, The Ozone Magazine Awards,
The Essence Music Festival, NBA All-Star, and Vibe Musicfest. Tambra Cherie also
has previously performed duties as a contributing writer for the most widely read Internet
hip hop entity in the world, AllHipHop.com. Her interviews with artists including Kirk Franklin,
Yolanda Adams, Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore, can still be viewed on the site.
Tambra Cherie, with top ratings, is currently the most resourceful On Air Talent, Entertainment
Reporter, and Promotions Director for Jackson’s Beat of the Capital, 97.7 WRBJ-FM.
In 2009, Tambra Cherie took over as the Midday Diva holding down Middays on 97.7,
which features the most popular segment she hosts, Relationship Hour. Also during
this time, Tambra Cherie was welcomed as the face of CW34 TV from 2008-2009
hosting The Comedy Watch, which aired daily throughout the week.
